‎The Kogi State Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Comrade Samuel Atuluku, PhD has called on members to always embrace professionalism and high degree of ethical conduct in the discharge of their duties.

 



‎Dr Samuel Atuluku was speaking at his PhD Convocation ceremony during the Eight combined Convocation and twenty fifth Anniversary of Nasarawa State University, Keffi on Saturday.

‎He noted that no success can be achieved without personal discipline, sacrifice and commitment to excellence.

‎According to him, the attainment of PhD in Mass Communication was a result of commitment, determination , foresight and consistent prayers, thanking God for making the feat attainable.

‎While appealing to media Professionals to ensure upgrade in knowledge, Dr Atuluku emphasized that knowledge is power as it would aid in contributing qualitatively in their constitutional assignment as the fourth Estate of the realm, thereby shaping and reshaping the society.

‎The Senior journalist called on his colleagues to device more strategic ways of bringing about more responsive governance at all levels in order to make living more meaningful for Nigerians, this he noted can be done through developmental journalism.

‎”Success is not attained on a plater of gold, you must dream it, pursue it, work it and pray it before actualization, and so I thank God Almighty for watering the seed which I planted some years ago educationally, there were challenges, but not summontable and today, here we are”, he stated.

‎The NUJ Secretary expressed appreciation to Kogi State Government, the Honourable Commissioner of Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo and others for creating an enabling environment for such academic excellence.

‎Dr Atuluku assured that he would use the knowledge acquired to contribute more meaningfully to the advancement of Kogi State, adding that Kogi State remains our Jerusalem with optimism that the state will be greater.
