NAKOSS Commends Kogi State Government on Digital Literacy Training Initiative

The National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) profoundly commends the Kogi State Government, particularly the Kogi State Ministry of Education, for the launch of the Digital Literacy Training Program, describing it as a bold and transformative initiative aimed at empowering the future of education in our dear state.

In a statement issued by the National President, Comrade Sunday Adeola Simon, the Association noted that the statewide program, designed to equip students and teachers across public schools with essential 21st-century digital skills, is a clear demonstration of visionary leadership and an unwavering commitment to educational advancement.

“At a time when digital competence is no longer optional but fundamental, this initiative stands as a strategic intervention to bridge the digital divide and prepare our students for global competitiveness,” Adeola stated.

The Association expressed particular satisfaction with the program’s focus on practical ICT skills, examination readiness through Computer-Based Testing (CBT) platforms, and general digital awareness. These components, it noted, are critical in enhancing students’ academic performance and positioning them for future career opportunities in an increasingly technology-driven world.

NAKOSS further applauded the decision to make the initiative free and fully sponsored by the state government, emphasizing that it underscores the administration’s inclusive approach to education and ensures that no student is left behind, regardless of socio-economic background. The statewide rollout across all Local Government Areas and the three senatorial districts also reflects a commendable commitment to equity and accessibility.

The Association also recognized the strategic coordination of the Kogi State Ministry of Education, led by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, as well as the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders involved in bringing the laudable vision to reality.

NAKOSS therefore extends its heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his continued dedication to youth empowerment and educational development in Kogi State.

“This initiative is not just a program; it is a legacy project that will shape the future of education in Kogi State for generations to come,” the National President concluded.
