KOGI EAST ELITES FORUM CAUTIONS SENATOR SUNDAY KARIMI OVER UNGUARDED UTTERANCES
The Kogi East Elite Forum noted with dismay frequent unguarded utterances by the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Karimi in the recent times One of such utterances was during the 2025 Kabba Day celebration where he stated hrs plan to unseat Governor Anmed Usman Ododo in conjunction with his self acclaimed allies from the eastern part of the State, to move the governorship of Kogt State to the West Senatorial District in 2027.
As a federal lawmaker, Karimi is supposed to be mindful of his utterances and not saying or doing anything to overheating the polity. The people of Kogi East are not dullards, we clearly know what 1s good for us and what ts good for Kogi state as a whole. In furtherance of this admonition, Kogites should be wary of deceptive agents like Karimi ahead of 2027 General Election because he ts positing for himself and not the interest of the good people of Kogi West and Kogi State,
The forum would like to make it abundantly clear to Senator Karimi that his statements are mere figment of his imagination as Kogi State now is resolute and united behind HE Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Ahmed Bola Tinubu come 2027. Our Governor has displayed highest level of humility, responsiveness and exceptional administrative acumen. The Governor through his resilience ts working to establish industrial parks and free trade zones to catalyse industrialization, the airport project design has been completed in record time the ongoing construction of international market in Lokoja to boost commercial activities and generate employment for our teeming youths, his landmark introduction of free education, revitalization and equipping of primary health care centres across the State, Prompt payment of salaries to civil servant and pension to retirees, scholarship to student in tertiary institutions, infrastructure in roads, water and educational sectors, his sincere fight against insecurity is second to none.
Above all, our governor has been able to forge unity and peace among the citizens across the three Senatorial District of the State. All these has provided incontrovertible evidence of our Governors competence and visionary leadership.
As progressive intelligentsia, the Kogi East Elites Forum stand immovably behind our Governor HE Ahmed Usman Ododo, and fully determined to see him complete his constitutionally established tenure of Exght year uninterrupted moving our dear State out of wound. It would be politically suicidal to abandon a great leader with such clear vision by entering into any ill-fated alignment that 1s purely based on self centred ambition. The people of Kogi East are not at loggerheads with the people of Kog! Central or West. Therefore, Karimi should stop creating unnecessary tension as showcased via his misguided comments.
We have only one viable alignment that works, and we are all committed to it, the alignment s for Kogi East, West and Central to work together behind the current administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to continue with the excellent work he 1s doing for the State and to shun any attitude capable of causing distractions and disunity in the State.
We are not unaware of the gimmick of Senator Sunday Karimi failed attempt to misuse his influence and resources at his disposal as Chairman Senate Committee on Services to buy up federal might to support his inordinate ambition, Such a move reflects a profound misunderstanding of Mr. President’s political ethos. We possess absolute confidence in President Tinubu’s discernment, strategic sophistication, and consistent dedication to work with sincere personalities like Governor Anmed Usman Ododo to deliver on the needed dividend of democracy to Kogi and Nigeria at large. The Kogi East Elites Forum unequivocally express serious doubt with the credibility of the Statements being made by Senator Sunday Karimi claiming any alliance with any serious-minded person from Kogi East, he is clearly on his own as he sought to distort the political narrative through calumny and misinformation. Senator Sunday karimi is strongly advised to mind his business and stop creating illusion of any unholy alliance with anyone in Kogi East.
Finally, we urge President Tinubu, the APC leadership, Kogites, and the general public to disregard such baseless propaganda, Governor Ododo continues to command broad, cross-ethnic goodwill, and we remain firmly committed to supporting him and delivering resounding backing for President Tinubu and our Governor in the forthcoming elections. The Govemor is advised to remain focused and resolute as always and not allow distraction to the wonderful work he id doing for the good people of Kogi State.
