2027: KWLL Affirms Power Rotation, Stands with Sen. Karimi, Condemns Kogi East Elites Forum as “Attack Dogs”
The Kogi West Leaders League (KWLL) reaffirms its resolve to stand with Senator Sunday Karimi in the pursuit of Kogi West’s right to occupy the Governor’s seat in 2027.
The group reacting to a Press Conference by the Kogi East Elite Forum, condemned the hastily organized Kogi East Elites Forum, describing it as an “emergency vehicle” formed to hijack and undermine the genuine aspirations of Kogi West.
KWLL emphasized that no amount of scheming, payments, or disgruntled individuals from the Kogi East Elites Forum can derail the demand of Kogi West—from Kogi LGA to Yagba West—to claim the Governorship (Lugard House) in 2027.
The added that the statement made by Senator Karimi at the recent Kabba Day celebration reflects the yearning of Kogi West, passed a vote of confidence on his representation and demand.
They said the Senator has not only fulfilled his senatorial duties of representation but has also contributed to bringing dividends of democracy to the district.
KWLL dismissed claims by Dr. Abubarka Rajab and the Kogi East Elites Forum, stating that hiring individuals with tainted records to speak for Kogi East is both laughable and futile.
The group noted that the forum is a gathering of failed politicians lacking confidence, whose spokesperson has lost relevance and integrity in Kogi East politics.
KWLL reiterated Kogi West’s determination to achieve the governorship through sincere dialogue with Kogi East, Kogi Central, a process already underway.
After 34 years of statehood, the group insists it is time for Kogi West to have a turn, emphasizing justice, equity, fairness, and good governance.
“Kogi West has been denied power for too long. The demand for 2027 is rooted in justice and the desire for good governance,” KWLL said. “We will work with like-minded individuals from all three senatorial districts to deliver true democracy and development.”
The group recalled that Kogi Central had four years of power in the old Kwara State and will by 2027 have enjoyed 16 years at the expense of Kogi West. “The yearning for justice, equity, and good governance cannot wait,” they added.
