2027 ELECTION: NIGERIA HAS PUT HER HAND TO THE PLOUGH – SHE MUST NOT LOOK BACK

The past two years under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have been years of courage, reform, and renewed direction.
The ship of state, once tossed recklessly by storms of indecision and inertia, has now found a purposeful course. It is therefore imperative that, as a nation, we recognize the progress we have made and resist every temptation to look back or derail from the path of reform and national renewal.
From the moment President Tinubu assumed office in May 2023, he made it clear that Nigeria could no longer afford half measures or the comfort of old habits that led to stagnation. His administration’s decisions, from ending the fuel subsidy regime to unifying the exchange rate, revitalizing the energy and agricultural sectors, and restoring investor confidence have required both vision and courage. These reforms have not been without pain, but they form the necessary foundation for a stronger, more productive, and self reliant Nigeria.
As the 2027 elections approach, Nigeria stands at a critical turning point in her democratic journey. Under President Tinubu’s leadership, the nation has taken bold and historic steps toward genuine reform and national renewal. Every nation that has risen to greatness has passed through a period of structural adjustment, a season when citizens must endure short term discomfort for long term transformation. Nigeria today is walking that same path.
The Tinubu administration has shown uncommon courage and vision. These policies have not been easy, but they represent a decisive break from decades of waste and dependency. Every great nation has endured sacrifice before achieving lasting prosperity; Nigeria is now on that same journey.
Nigerians are seeing clearly that the Renewed Hope agenda is not mere rhetoric. It is a deliberate political and economic re-engineering of the national superstructure, a plan to rebuild the economy, restore investor confidence, and ensure that governance truly works for the common man. Across the economy, energy, infrastructure, and security sectors, there is renewed commitment to doing what is right rather than what is easy.
As citizens, we must remain focused. We must not allow political distractions or short-term discomfort to derail the progress already made. To abandon reform now would be to undo the foundation of a stronger future being solidly built over the past two years. The coming years must therefore be about continuity, deepening reform, and expanding opportunity for all Nigerians. We must support the Tinubu policies that empower our industries, create jobs for our youth, and secure our future.
Let the 2027 election, therefore, be a reaffirmation of faith in the nation’s direction. Let it be a testament to our maturity as a people who understand that development demands continuity, consistency, sacrifice, and vision. Nigerians must guard against the politics of distraction and division. The next election must not be about nostalgia for the past, but about the consolidation of progress.
To look back now, to retreat into populism, policy reversal, or reckless political adventurism would be to betray the sacrifices that millions of Nigerians have made for a better tomorrow.
A farmer who puts his hand to the plough and looks back cannot till a straight line; a nation that begins reform and abandons it midway cannot reap the harvest of prosperity.
Critics may question the pace or outcomes of these reforms, but no one can deny that Nigeria has taken a bold leap forward. For the first time in years, we are witnessing coordinated efforts to rebuild the economy from the ground up, empower local industries, and place Nigeria firmly on the map of global competitiveness. These are not quick fixes, they are long term investments in the nation’s destiny.
A solid and massive vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 will show to the rest of the world that Nigeria has indeed turned the bend and that her people have chosen to march forward, never backward.
