4G Network Dismisses APC Freedom’s Statement as Mere Social Media Noise

The 4G Network, a strong political network in Kogi Local Government Area, has dismissed the press statement credited to a group parading itself as APC Freedom as mere social media noise, lacking grassroots support and political relevance.

Reacting to the publication signed by one Usman Abdulmalik Adabo, the 4G Network described the group as faceless and unknown to the real APC structure in Kogi LGA and Kogi West Senatorial District.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the 4G Network through its Coordinator Hamza Zource noted that the Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu, is a grassroots politician who speaks for his people and handles issues where it matters most at the grassroots.

“If the so-called leader of this faceless group, Usman Abdulmalik Adabo, is truly on ground and commands any political following, he should do what real politicians do. Let him convene a gathering of APC stakeholders, ward executives, and party faithful and openly declare support for the incumbent Senator the same way the stakeholders of Kogi LGA did through the Commissioner at the 4G Network Solidarity Walk. Only then can he be taken seriously,” the statement read.

The Network stressed that the massive turnout at Gegu Beki was a clear demonstration of where the people stand. The resolution of Kogi LG stakeholders to support Otunba Samuel Aro Bamidele for Kogi West Senate was not done in hiding or on social media, but before a crowd of living, breathing voters and party leaders.

“Politics is not played on Facebook or in press releases written from hotel rooms. It is played in the units, wards, and communities. Engr Bashir Gegu has shown capacity by mobilizing his people. We challenge the so called Usman Abdulmalik Adabo and his sponsors to show us their own crowd if they have any,” the group added.

The 4G Network further stated that it will not join issues with political merchants seeking relevance through attacks on a leader whose grassroots credentials are unmatched in Kogi LGA.

“Engr Bashir Gegu will continue to stand with his people and speak truth to power. The era of intimidating stakeholders with faceless groups is over. If APC Freedom exists beyond the internet, let them come to the field,” the statement concluded.
