2027: Ebonyi Women Group Endorses Nwifuru for Second Term

A women’s group, Ada Izzi Nnodo Ekumenyi an umbrella body of Izhi daughters in home and in diaspora have endorsed the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced on Thursday during a solidarity road walk across major streets in Abakaliki, which culminated at the old Government House.
Speaking at the event, the group’s President, Princess Winifred Nwenyi, said the decision was based on the governor’s performance across key sectors, including security, infrastructure, education, and human capital development among others within his first term.
She stated that the group was fully committed to supporting the governor’s re-election bid, citing what she described as his numerous achievements, and pledged to mobilise voters to ensure his victory in 2027.
Nwenyi disclosed that the group had already embarked on voter registration drives across communities in Izzi clan to ensure eligible voters are prepared to participate in the elections.
She also commended the present administration initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of women, particularly the establishment of skill acquisition centres, which she said had reduced dependence on menial labour among members.
The group urged residents of the state to support the governor’s re-election in order to sustain ongoing development efforts.
Other members of the group, including Mrs. Charity Ikebe and Mrs. Justina Omoke, reaffirmed their full support for the governor, while commending his impactful leadership and achievements across the state.
Receiving the group on behalf of the governor, the Chief of Staff, Prof. Emmanuel Echiegu, commended the women for their support, attributing the growing endorsements to the administration’s performance.
He called on the group to remain steadfast in their support and encouraged them to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 elections.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of a certificate of endorsement to the governor’s representative.
