2026 LABOUR DAY MESSAGE FROM SENATOR SUNDAY KARIMI TO WORKERS IN
KOGI WEST, KOGI STATE AND NIGERIA
The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Sunday Karimi, has saluted Nigerian workers for their diligence and resilience in driving the nation’s economy forward despite persistent challenges.
In his 2026 Workers’ Day message on Thursday, Senator Karimi described workers as “Nigeria’s greatest asset—our people,” noting that today offers an opportunity to pay tribute to “the hands that have built our cities, systems and institutions.”
“There is dignity in labour; the dedication and commitment to the work we do is vital to nation-building,” he said, while urging workers to embrace innovation as the country adapts to evolving economic realities. He also promised that government will continue to prioritize the safety and welfare of the workforce.
The Senator commended workers across all sectors—public, private, formal, and informal—for their “unwavering commitment,” stressing that their contributions remain the backbone of national progress.
Addressing workers in Kogi West in particular, he pledged to stand firmly with them in the push for improved welfare and better working conditions. “Your fight will be my fight,” he assured, reaffirming his commitment to advocating for laws and policies that protect and empower the workforce.
Senator Karimi further expressed optimism that the efforts of Nigerian workers will continue to be recognized and celebrated, adding: “May your efforts always be recognized and celebrated. Happy Workers’ Day!”
