2025 Press Week: Kogi NUJ Hold Thanksgiving Service, As Clergy Tasks Journalists on balance reportage

 

As part of activities marking the 2025 NUJ Press Week, Journalists at a church service held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of Grace, Region 24 headquarters, gave thanks to God Almighty for the safety of Journalists in the year past, assured of balance reportage.

This is as the Pastor in Charge of RCCG, Region 24, Pastor Nathaniel Rotimi, tasked Journalists of the need for courage and balance reportage.

He described Journalist as people who help in mirroring the society, said a safer society is made possible when Journalists report fair and accurate report.

He urge the media to hold those in authority accountable, Stating that they are the hope of the common man, and good governance in a democracy.

Preaching on the message of Love, Pastor Nathaniel read from 1 John 4:8, titled his message on knowing God, pointing out that God is Love.

He called on Christians to learn the act of giving to exemplify love, pointing out that the good deeds of men on earth is what will be remembered by God and humanity.

He urged Christians to work by the spirit, pointing out that in times of trouble, God looks at the record of man in love for his fellow man.

He described touching lives positively by men as an account that defends man in times of trouble, asked believers to imbibe the spirit of Christ in Giving .

He called on Christians to strive to meet the challenges of widows, vulnerable and the have not in the society, said such support enables man to enjoy God’s favour.

In his remarks, the Kogi State NUJ Chairman, Comr. Ademu Seidu, said the previous year has been challenging for practitioners, said the thanksgiving is to return the Glory to God and seeks his face in prayers in the new year.
