2025 NFF President Federation Cup: Coaches, Players Lauds Standard of PAAU Stadium
Coaches and players taking part in the ongoing 2025 NFF President Federation Cup Round of 32 Men’s football competition, have lauded the standard of the Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba stadium.
The commendation came from the players and coaches of Nasarawa Utd, Ijele FC, Mighty Jets Feeders, Akwa Utd and Inter Lagos FC when they locked horns at the stadium.
Other players and coaches who said the PAAU stadium afforded them the opportunity to play good football games included; Jr Danbaram FC, Sunshine Stars FC and Plateau Utd, commended the NFF for selecting PAAU stadium, pointing out that the synthetic pitch of the stadium and security arrangement was top notch.
Recalled that the NFF granted the Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba Stadium the approval to host matches in the round of 32 in the NFF President Federation Cup competition.
The PAAU stadium will on 14th April also Host Nasarawa United vs Bayelsa United, Plateau United vs Osun United on 14th of April, 2025.
The PAAU stadium got the nod from the NFF after meeting the standard for FIFA stadium amongst stadia in Kogi State as presented to the NFF to host matches in the competition.
The NFF selected the Prince Abubakar Audu University’s main football field, the only football pitch in Kogi State with FIFA-standard synthetic grass, world-class sporting facility and having the ability to attract different levels of football activities.
Recalled that not too long ago, the PAAU’S football stadium played host to the Nigerian Women Football League (NWDL) 2024/2025 season, among other competition.
This development has not only enhanced the University’s sports infrastructure but has also rekindled a strong passion for football among students and staff alike.
With its new synthetic grass facilities, the stadium is set to welcome other top-tier teams in the ongoing 2025 NFF President Federation Cup amongst other sporting competition.
The Vice Chancellor, PAAU, Prof. Marietu Tenuche notes with nostalgia that her administration has invested heavily in sports, pointing out that the school makes sporting activities outside the regular school curriculum a priority.
She added that improving on the school’s sporting facilities, has offered students, the opportunities to explore interests, develop skills, and engage in diverse experiences, pointing out that the University has produced great men and women who have made the country proud in sports within and outside the shores of the country.
