The GYB4PYB CROSS RIVER CHAPTER has warned that zoning the 2023 Presidency will not be in the public interest.
The group in a meeting held in Calaba today said Zoning the Presidency in 2023 would be counter productive as credible aspirants will be shot out of the contest.
In a statement signed by Chief S. I. Ayami, the Cross River State chapter of the Yahaya Bello for President, met at the cultural centre in Calabar to chat the way forward after the formal declaration of Gov. Yahaya Bello called on the APC to allow for a contest for all the aspirant.
The crossrivergroup in the statement issued to newsmen, resolved that all aspirants should be allowed to submit themselves to the decision of the delegates at the primaries.
The group called on all members to begin aggressive campaign in all 18 local government areas of the state, also resolved that a functional office be arranged to serve as meeting venue instead of hiring event centres.
The statement also observed that so far among the presidential aspirants that have made their intentions known thus far, none of the aspirant falls within the ambit of the Not too Young to Rule Act signed into law by President Mohammadu Buhari.
The group further reiterated it resolve to continue its support for Gov. Yahaya Bello for the 2023 Presidency.
