The Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba has called on Women in the state to stand in one voice to allow Governor Yahaya Bello take over the affairs of the country.
Buba made the call on Saturday at the All Progressive Congress, (APC) women stakeholders meeting held at the Lokoja Local Government party secretariat.
The Commissioner said the call became necessary as the presidential ambition of Governor Bello is divine, stressing that, when women stand in one voice to cry to their creator of the good intention of the Governor, he will hear them.
According to Buba, a divided family does not achieve result, adding that, the APC family in Lokoja Local Government, Kogi State and Nigeria in general should throw their weight behind a man who is ready to sacrifice his life for the progress and development of Nigeria.
While calling on aggrieved women party member to sheathe their sword , the women Commissioner explained that the essence of the meeting is to allow interaction among Women in the party, and to proffer a way out for incoming president Alhaji Yahaya Bello to succeed.
Explaining further, Buba said” We are gathered here to rub minds with each other and to see how our party will continue to succeed in Kogi State and Nigeria as we draw closer to the 2023 general. Coming here is not for us to fight each other, but to stand in one voice, unite, stay strong and queue behind our workaholic leader. In the history Kogi State, no Governor has given Women more recognition as Alhaji Yahaya Bello. Without mincing words, prove me wrong.
” It is only in Kogi State out of the 36 State of the federation including the federal capital territory that Governor Bello surpassed the 35 percent affirmative action for Women in line with the Beijing declaration of 1995. He has done well, that is why we need to come together, speak to our conscinec, pray to Almighty Allah for him to lead this country. If he could transform the state within this shortest time he came to power, that means his leadership in Nigeria will bring smiles to all Women.
” For you all to know that he means business of changing the narrative of Nigeria for good, I am backing his words of transforming Nigeria in 365 days if elected as President. Let us go to our respective wards, preach peace, love, unity and the agenda of our amiable Governor. It is Yahaya Bello we stand for a united, peaceful, secured and a prosperous Nigeria”.
Earlier in their various remarks, the Vice Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Hon. Comfort Ife, Special Adviser to Governor Bello, Aisha Gimba Ishaku, APC Women Leader in Lokoja Local Government Hajia Saratu Muhammed, legislative council members present at the meeting all harp on unity for the party to succeed both in the state and the National level.
The stakeholder meeting which was organized by the Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, had in attendance, Women party faithfuls from all the wards across Lokoja Local Government of Kogi State.
