Leading aspirant in the forthcoming Kogi State PDP Governorship primary election has on Sunday, April 2, reminded the Kogi State PDP delegates about the burden of duty they currently bear as the party prepares to elect a flag-bearer for the November Governorship election.
He said the burden of duty is a shared one, one that is both on himself as an aspirant and on the delegates who will cast the party nomination votes.
“I wish to remind you my fellow party members and delegates of our great party, the PDP, that we have a shared burden of duty. My burden is that of an aspirant, yours is that of a delegate. Both burdens are heavy in their own merits and essence but together as one, I know we will not disappoint the people of Kogi State,” he said in the Sunday statement.
“The people of Kogi State are counting on you and I to get it right. I hope that you as my partners in the mission to rescue our dear State from the grip of APC, will walk this long walk with me for it is the walk of freedom for our dear State from the abyss of bad governance occasioned upon the State by the APC in the past 7 years.
“As one united people and party, I believe we will triumph and the people of Kogi State will be able to soon enough start smiling again, knowing fully well that our great party, the PDP, is the only party that even by historical records, can give good governance to the people of Kogi State.
“Come April 13/April 14, vote for me, Barrister Kabiru Usman, as your choice for the Kogi State PDP Governorship ticket. I promise that if you vote for me I will walk the talk to the very end and I will together with you, as fellow partymen and partywomen, win the November Governorship election itself for our great party, the PDP; and for all fellow Kogites in all the 21 Local Government Areas of our dear Kogi State,” Barrister Kabiru Usman further said.
