2023 : Presidential Aspirant Promises To encourage Patriotism, Revamp Economy

A former Nigerian born USA army, rtd , Col. Osagiede Ogbeowemwenkon Osemwende Momodu Wisdom, has promised to encourage patriotism,revamp the economy ,as it will be  taught from elementary school to the university level, so that Nigerians can have Nigeria at heart.

 

Osagiede Ogbeowemwenkon Osemwende Momodu Wisdom, stated this on Thursday in Benin City while announcing his intention to Contest the Presidential election in 2023.

Osagiede, who  retired as Colonel after serving in the United States military for 30 years, will be contesting in the primaries of the All-Progressives Congress, APC for the 2023 presidential elections.

According to him, “My decision to run is strictly coined in my love for Nigeria and utmost wish to see the country transform into one of the strongest economies in the world and a place everyone would desire as a destination.

He said , his ” administration will encourage patriotism, patriotism will be taught from elementary school to the university level so that Nigerians can have Nigeria at heart.”

” I am a retired Colonel who served in the United States military for 30 years. I am a Nigerian, born and bred in Benin City and Lagos respectively. I went to school in Nigeria and studied abroad where I obtained my Bachelors, Masters and PhD.

Col  Osagiede promised
to  revamp the economy. “The economy will be centered on agriculture, we will explore solid minerals, encourage innovation from the universities and the government will give short loans to intellectual students who are ready to break new grounds. My administration will derive our foreign exchange from agriculture and we will go back to the days of the 1* republic when agriculture was the main stay of the nation’s economy, we will give out small loans to farmers, agricultural students from the higher institution and they will be empowered and eighty (80) percent in my administration will be the youth,

Poverty has been a prolonged social vice in Nigeria. It has hit our population so hard over the years. Yet, the populous nature of Nigeria Is the country’s number one strength, meaning that the population must not suffer from poverty which is causing social stagnation. The Nigerian population must be empowered, so it can work and boost the country’s economy further. My administration will face poverty head-on.

He stated further that, ” Nigeria has been ‘suffocating on the unbearable weight of insecurity and terror, perpetrated by the dreaded Boko Haram. This crisis has caused a lot of pain and suffering to the victimized communities and has been one of the country’s biggest challenges. This should never have been happening to Africa’s giant. We can redress this security challenges

“If Nigeria is called the giant of Africa, it is not a mistake. We are a great nation, and we are all proud of that, certainly. However, Nigeria would have travelled a longer distance than we have today.

“It is a wonderful thing that many more Nigerians attend universities and other higher institutions of learning today. However, scores of them graduate from the universities each year and roam the streets with no jobs. What the country losses in this is intellectual resources that would otherwise have contributed to Nigeria’s development. There is a way these young Nigerians can be accommodated in the workforce. This must be fixed.

“My administration will revamp the economy. “Until every single Nigerian can afford good health, we would still be struggling. Good health is expensive, but Nigerians must be healthy. Not only should the cost of treatment be brought down, but Nigeria, from 2023, needs to turn to a new page where health insurance for all is the order of the day. I will declare state of emergency in the health sector, new health clinics and renovation of the old owns will be done in the towns and in the villages and also in all nooks and cranny of the city.

We need to fix that by agreeing to disagree to agree and move Nigeria forward. By that, I mean it is time to unify Nigeria and Nigerians, so we can henceforth, speak the same language as a people. I will call for tribal summit of all the tribes in Nigeria and each of the tribes in Nigeria will have a representative at the summit. The purpose for the tribes summit Is to unit the Nigerian tribes to become a perfect union, the decision from the summit will be sent to the National Assembly to pass as a bill.” ….
