2023 Presidency: Still the turn of North – Hon. Karimi Sunday.


 

A two time member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Karimi Sunday, has again added his voice to the quest for 2023, insisting that it is still the turn of North to produce the President.

Hon. Karimi Sunday a two time member of the House of Representatives made the disclosure while throwing his support to the position of the Northern elders, said it is still the turn of the North to produce the next President in 2023.

According to the calculation of Hon. Karimi, who Represented Yagba Federal Constituency in the National Assembly between 2011-2019 said ” Since 1999 when the rotation started from the South and ended in the North, said this time around it should start from where it ended as it’s the normal practice for rotational agreement, that where you do contribution and it ends, it normally starts again from the end point.

Also between 1999 and 2023, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo from the South West ruled for 8yrs and handed over to Alh. Shehu Musa Yar’ adua, who ruled for 2yrs and died.

President Goodluck Ebele, Jonathan ruled for 6yrs and handed over to President Mohammadu Buhari who will complete his 8yrs in 2023.

Hon. Karimi maintained that thus far, the South has had a combined period of 14yrs, while the North will complete 10yrs in 2023, said for the sake of equity, the next President should come from another geo political zone from the North, preferably the North Central.

The former Lawmaker urged that the North Central be allowed to Produce the next President in 2023, insisting that the area has never enjoyed the privilege of being elected to the Presidency.
