2023 PRESIDENCY; GAMJI COALITION FOR ASIWAJU/SHETTIMA OGORI MAGONGO LGA CHAPTER ADVOCACY VISIT YIELDS POSITIVE DIVIDENDS FOR ASIWAJU BOLA TINUBU/SHETTIMA CAMPAIGNS


 

Sequel to the commencement of political campaigns toward electing new political leaders at all level of governance across Nigeria, a political advocacy group, Gamji Coalition for Asiwaju/Shettima, Ogori-magongo chapter, under the leadership of its Executive Members, have boosted the profile and positive perceptions of the campaign ticket, with its advocacy visits to several notable indigenes and other prominent stakeholders from the zone, to market the candidacy of the presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice, Kashim Shettima.

 

Conscious of the facts that the traditional rulers are nonpartisan, realizing the facts that in spite of these, they wield enormous influence that has power to influence public opinion, the group took their advocacy campaigns to their respective doorsteps to seek their by-in and blessings.

The group thus embarked on two days advocacy visits to notable and distinguished stakeholders in the zone where the opportunity of the visits, provided the forum to meet like minds and exchange ideas as to the way forward towards developing their zone and making life more meaningful to its people and by extension the people of the entire state.

No doubt, the nation is challenged on all front, with myriads of political, security, ethical and socioeconomic problems, which has continued to under the quality of life and the ability of the government to effectively deliver on its campaign promises.

It is based on this realization that the people continued to clamor for a paradigm shift towards the enthronements of a credible and pragmatic leadership come 2023.

The realization for the need to enthrone a visionary leadership in the country, remain the very keel and motivation of the group and hence their choice of candidacy.

Some of the distinguished personalities the group pencilled down to meet and interact with include but not restricted to the following: Prof O.Akerejola, Hon Gabriel Daudu, Mr M.D.Keyi, Mrs.Petra Akinti-Onyegbule, Engr. Sunday Ezekiel,Hon Moses Akande, Hon Fimihan Akerejoola, Hon. Otayitiye Akerejola, Mr. Paul Tafa and several others. The advocacy was fruitful and committal, with many clamouring for leaders that will truly serve the people and deliver qualitative leadership in the process.

With the success of the first day advocacy visit, the group agreed and also extended the visit to traditional rulers in the local government to also seek their prayers, counsel and by-in towards the realization of the ASIWAJU-SHETTIMA presidency in 2023.

Amongst the traditional rulers visited include the following;Obin Samuel Bola Ojo,The Olu-Magongo of Magongo, HRH Chief David Ojo Akande.The Otaro Idu of Adubane Clan, HRH Olatunde Edward Alao,The Otaro of Okibo, HRH Chief Joseph Onewo, The Otaro of Oturu Clan, HRH Chief Patrick Daudu, The Olu-Oba of Magongo and HRH Patrick Eriki, The Obaro of Magongo.

All the traditional rulers were unanimously desirous of good governance and effective leadership from all the political class and thus prayed for the success of the advocacy visits of the group across the zone.

Some urge for the inclusion of more women and youths in the groups and prayed for peace and security in the local government, the state and the entire country, many commended the present leadership in the state and call for more inclusive governance so as to promote equity, justice and effective service delivery, by many citizens who may have been positively impacted and inspired to patriotically contributes their quota towards the development of the people of the local government.

Amongst the targeted critical stakeholders proposed to meet and interact with, only Engr Sunday Ezekiel was available at the time of these report, the group thus resolved to meet with others as soon as they returned home.

During its interactions with Engr Sunday Ezekiel,the respected politician appreciated the visit of the group and promised to support them and work together as a team towards the electoral victory of the ASIWAJU/SHETTIMA presidential election in 2023. He urged for the need to partner and work with all other relevant stakeholders and leaders in other groups in Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area.

The traditional rulers appreciate the patriotic efforts of the group and noted that it was the first of its kind in the history of electioneering campaigns in the local government area. Many of them advised the group to engage more in grassroots campaigns by way of house to house and neighbor to neighbor campaigns as this will go a long way to woo and win many more supporters and electorates towards their cause. They counsel the group to avoid rancorous campaigns that may lead to violence as they prayed for the success of the group.
