2023: Opportunity For Ora Clan To Correct Imbalance In Owan Politics, Ojo

Mr Christopher Ojo, a House of Representatives aspirant, has said that the 2023 general elections have presented another opportunity for Ora Clan in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo to correct the seeming imbalance in politics of the area.

 

Ojo stated this while fielding questions from newsmen on Saturday in Benin on his chances in the poll.

Ojo, an aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), bemoaned the political and Infrastructural marginalisation of the area by successive government of the State as Well as leadership of the various political parties.

The aspirant for the Owan Federal Constituency regretted that the marginalisation is both by the Federal and State Governments respectively.

He noted that the imbalance have placed Ora clan at an disadvantage position, especially in the area of intracting dividends of democracy to the people.

According to him, “It is regrettable that inspite of the contribution of people of Ora clan (axis one of Owan West Council area) to the development of the council, we have been greatly marginalised politically.

“Not only are we overlooked in time of political appointments, we have also been made to suffered when considering elective positions; Local, State and Federal Governments.

“This situation have places us in a disadvantage position as a people; infrastructurally, we have been neglected while our people have been made to play second fiddle to other clan

“Perhaps, it will interest you to know that Ora clan gave APC the highest votes in Owan West during the 2019 general elections and the 2020 Edo governorship election.”

Ojo therfore called on the people of Ora clan to come out of servitude and support their own in the 2023 general elections.

“This is a golden opportunity for us to right the wrong that have been inflicted on the people for decades now. This injustice must stop,” he stated.
