2023: Gov Bello Tasks elected, appointed officials On Ensuring Victory For All APC Candidates In Kogi


 

 

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has directed all elected and appointed officials of the state to be ready to produce results that is enough to equate the salaries and allowances they collect from the state.

 

The Governor said this at the Strategic Stakeholders meeting of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State.

The meeting which was well attended by members of the state executive council, Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants, Kogi Assembly Members, Local Government Chairmen, and Ward Councilors was the first of its kind in the state in recent time.

Bello Identified the existence of the Government as a product of existence of the Party APC and therefore charged State Government officials to stand to the task of delivering their Constituencies during the elections.

His words “you cannot be taking monthly salaries and allowances and still loose your wards. You must work for what you are eating”.

Bello sent words of caution to people who are highly placed to stop thinking about creating confusion in the state.

His words “anyone thinking or nursing the idea of working against the party in Kogi State should stay away”. He added that “anybody that wants to lobby for position or relevance can not do that by causing division in Kogi State”.

He added that “we cannot have a party with executives at the State, Local Government and Ward level and you will render them irrelevant”.

On his part, the deputy governor, Edward Onoja advised party officials and stakeholders to brace up as the forthcoming General elections is not just the duty of the Governor but all officials both elected and appointed.

Onoja maintained that Kogi State must be part of the success story of the presidential election by recording successes that is more than that of the previous elections.

While speaking at the interactive session, the Kogi State Chairman of All Progressives Congress, Hon. Abdullahi Bello said that the 2023 general election is fast approaching and political activities is set to commence officially.

He stated that it is important that everyone should be fully committed to delivering all the candidates of the party as the major objective is to record total success.

Bello charged party faithful to remain firm and show absolute commitment, dedication and loyalty in the course of the 2023 election.

He charged the Local Government Chairmen to continue to show their strength by providing results in their given assignment.

He assured the party at the National Level that appointing Bello as the Youth Coordinator will bring about unprecedented victory.

In his goodwill message, Senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District, Senator Jibril Isa Echocho advised the Governor to whisper his strategies to his colleagues at the core north.

Echoho said “We have interactions with our colleagues at the National Assembly and they made us to understand that there are a lot of challenges with APC at the Northern part of the Country, saying it’s not healthy for the party to go into the election like that.

He added that the strategies he has deployed in the past weeks is a breakthrough for the party and it will be nice if same is replicated in all the states.

While speaking, the Senatorial Candidate for Kogi Central, Engr. Abubakar Ohere Itemized giant strides of the Governor spreading to all parts of the state.

He emphasized that Constructing a Teaching Hospital for Prince Abubakar Audu University in Anyigba as a major intervention in both the Education and Health sector.

Speaking on behalf of the Western Senatorial District, Kogi Assembly Speaker, Matthew Kolawole charged Stakeholders to pull themselves together to correct the mistakes of the past.

He added that “We have nothing much to say than to appreciate you for what you have been doing in the state. When you came in, the language was that you won’t be able to deliver because of your age but God gave you a wisdom filled government and you have shown with proofs that you are God sent”.

In his address, The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku noted that the Governor has written his name in gold and coming generation will continue to remember him.

Asuku pleaded with aggrieved members of the party to embrace the party’s candidates and work with the party to achieve success.

His words ” We are here today as a system and we cannot all be happy. If you are working against the system, people will see you as a traitor. I am pleading that we should all be patient and tolerate each other because we will all partake of the good of the party and the government”.
