A Federal Lawmaker, Representing Ankpa Olamaboro and Omala Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, has described Gov. Yahaya Bello as having all the needed qualities that would move the country forward if elected as President.
Hon. Halims made the disclosure in an interview with Thenigerianpost, said having noticed that the major challenge facing the country is insecurity and disunity, described Gov. Bello’s template in his ability to unite and secure Kogi State as what the country needs moving forward.
The Lawmaker maintained that if adequate preparation and having the required credentials for the next President of the Country is anything to go by, says Gov. Bello posseses what the country needs.
Hon. Halims cautioned against using mundane criteria that has not helped the nation’s growth and development, called on Nigerian’s not to be emotional in choosing the next President, rather, urged that they should be rational in choosing the next President.
The Lawmaker pointed out that over the years sentiment and not much sense has remained a formidable factor in determining who governs, lamented that it has caused a major set back to the Nation’s growth and development.
While pointing out that the politics of religion and ethnicity which have taken precedence over capacity, competence, patriotism and integrity must be discarded in 2023, described Gov. Bello as a tool needed to fix the nation’s challenges.
According to Hon. Halims, ” We are always quick to rally round circumstantial emotionalism rather than sustainable benefaction. This must definitely stop in 2023. We must begin to look beyond the mundane criteria to choose our nation’s President, for the sake of the coming generation”, he said.
He called on patriotic Nigerian’s who are the electorates to see the job facing them in the days and year to come in determining which heart, mind and soul command those qualities best suited to unify a country rather than to further divide it.
Hon. Hon. Halims urged Nigerians to choose Gov. Bello who has shown that he has what it takes to heal the wounds of a nation as opposed to aggravating its injuries, opined that he has what is needed to secure Nigeria for the next generation.
He concluded by appealing to Nigerian’s on the need for people to be patriotic and to make choices based on informed awareness rather than one of reaction based on unknowing fear, described Gov. Bello as a unifier.
