The Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Wemi Jones says the All Progressives Congress APC is a party to beat in the forthcoming general elections in the country.
Mr. Jones told Newsmen on the sideline of the APC’s Ward Congress in Kabba, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State that the party has continue to wax stronger in the grassroots, State and National levels.
According to him, some Governors from the opposition have continued to join the ruling party as more are still expected soon, describing the development as an indication that APC is a popular party.
The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the machinery put in place for the conduct of the election, saying the exercise in the Area was seamless and peaceful.
The Education Commissioner said the success recorded in the Congress in Kabba-Bunu is an indication that the party is growing stronger in the Area, Kogi and Nigeria.
According to Mr. Jones, Kabba-Bunu APC complied in totality to the directive of the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to return all caretaker executives, noting that the exercise was conducted in the Area without rancor.
He commended Governor Yahaya Bello for demonstrating pragmatic Leadership in piloting the Affairs of the Party in Kogi which he noted has silenced opposition in the State.
Mr. Jones added that the People’s Democratic Party PDP doesn’t not exist in the State.
