2023 Census, Vital, Important To Progress, Prosperity of Nigeria – Gov. Yahaya Bello


 

Gov. Yahaya Bello has described the 2023 Population and Housing Census as vital, important to the progress and prosperity of the nation.

 

Gov. Bello made the disclosure while inauguarating the 2023 Census Kogi State Publicly Committee, described Census as vital and important to the development and prosperity of any nation.

 

 

 

 

The Governor who was Represented by the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja, described the 2023 Census as timely as it will help the incoming administration in the country at all levels to plan and to hit the ground running in meeting their yearning and aspirations.

The Governor expressed optimism that the figures that will come out of the Census will be a credible Data base for planning, praised the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari for the courage to embark on the Census exercise after a very long time.

The Governor praised the NPC for the adequate preparation it has carried out to ensure a credible census, urged the Media committee to ensure that citizens of the State are aware and involved in the Census exercise.

The Governor expressed optimism that every steps will be made to ensure that the Census exercise and figures coming out of Kogi State is made the best in the Country.

In a remarks, the Kogi State Commissioner For Information and Communication, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, assured of the State’s readiness to carry out massive sensitization that would allow for inclusion and participation by the Citizens of the State.

Similarly, the State Director, NPC Kogi State, Mr. Ojo Abiodun Titus, described the 2023 Census as a Digital census, urged citizens to be rest assured that no one will be cheated.

He said the 2023 census would be technologically driven, assured of delivering a credible census to Nigerian, described publicity as key, reason for the inauguration of the Media and Publicity Committee.

In their separate good will messages, the Members of the Committee assured of their readiness towards ensuring that critical stakeholders and citizens are made aware and are counted.

Highlights of the inauguration was the presentation of a documentary on methodology and preparation for the 2023 population and Housing Census presented by Mr. Ojo Abiodun Titus, State Director NPC, said preparation for the 2023 census in Kogi State started in 2015, pointing out that the Commission has successfully demarcated all parts of the State, with pretest activities, trail census already carried out.

Similarly, the 2023 Census will be a green census with the use of digital technology, pointing out that the Commission has carried out massive recruitment of Staff, put in place committees, expressed optimism and confident to deliver on the mandate of the Commission in the State.
