The call for a democratically elected President from the North Central Zone has been described as not only imperative but just.
Kogi State Coordinator of North Central Unity Bridge, Dr. Frank Kato made this known in a statement.
Dr. Frank explained that the North Central Zone despite playing symbolic role in the history of Nigeria has been relegated to the background as a mere reference point.
The statement noted that the zone which comprises of Kogi, Benue, Plateau, Nassarawa, Niger, Kwara and FCT has not experienced substantial infrastructural legacies since Independence despite being the region where the nation was born, named and initially administered.
According to the statement, the idea of using the North Central region as a way of power balancing either to the core north or south will no longer be tolerated.
The zone has encountered grevious socio-cultural and political deprivation, economic depreciation and stagnation for over a century which has resulted into stunted growth of the region.
Amidst the rampaging effect of Covid-19 on the economy, the region and Kogi State in particular which is described as the invincibility epicentre has emphatically evolved.
