13 Months Salary: Edo NUJ Chairman, Alenkhe Appreciate Governor Okpebholo

The chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo state council , Dr Festus Alenkhe has joined the workers of Edo state to appreciate the state Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo for his approval to pay Edo state workers 13 months salary in December, 2024.

In a Statement in Benin city, Dr Festus Alenkhe said the gesture will go a long way in reducing the economic hardship and the harrowing situation workers are going through today, adding that, the approval of the 13 months salary for workers has further shown the love that Edo state Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has for Edo state workers.

Dr Festus Alenkhe also lauded the state government for paying the November salary in line with the N70,000 minimum wage as earlier approved by the previous administration.

The statement expressed optimism that the Governor will continue to do more good things for its workforce and the pensioners.

Dr Alenkhe also appealed to the state government to approve outstanding promotion of workers in Edo state as he expected workers in the state to reciprocate government gesture by improving their work capacity and productivity.

He however wished the state government and its work force a successful yuletide.
