The National President of Izzi Nnodo youth forum Hon. Ben Nwovu has urged the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to consider the Governor of Ebonyi State and Senator Elect for Ebonyi South Senatorial district Engr. David Umahi to be the next Senate President of the 10th National Assembly.
He stated this while interacting with newsmen at his Country home, Amegu Community in Abakaliki Local Government Area, Ebonyi State.
The National President who doubles as the Special Assistant to the Governor on road maintenance noted that Umahi has the capacity to take the National Assembly to the enviable height going by his vast knowledge in leadership and as a detribalize Nigerian.
He expressed hope that Umahi if given the opportunity would continue to contribute positively towards the socioeconomic development of the Country.
However, the National President commended Governor Umahi for his Leadership ingenuity in the State and solicited for the maximum support of Ebonyians to the Governor elect Chief Francis Nwifuru as he takes mantle of leadership come 29th May, 2023 for the success of his adminstration.
He urged the Governor elect to accord priority on human capital development, construction of rural roads and as well urban roads not touched by the present adminstration for the well being of Ebonyi people, adding that the Governor elect would consolidate on the lofty achievements of Governor Umahi in the State.
Nwovu added “Governor Umahi and Nwifuru are infrastructural gurus, Umahi made Ebonyi State to be competing with Abuja and other unique States”
“Yes people have been talking about bad economy but it is not peculiar in Ebonyi, it affect the whole Country but our Governor did a lot because of his miraculous way of doing things and the Governor elect has learnt a lot that with mega resources available in the State much can be done to Ebonyi people”
The Izzi Nnodo youth president however called everyone to see easter celebration as a period of sober reflection, reconciliation, exchange of gifts among one another, prayers as well as tell sorry for the offended ones and not the other way round for a better society while praying for peaceful transition in Ebonyi State.
