Honorable Bilkisu Avosuahi Aliyu in her capacity has flagged off the skill acquisition program and empowerment exercise which is to feature about four centers within Okene local government. The centers which include Saint Paul Anglican Church Okengwe. Saint Andrew Anglican Church Okene. LGA school i N A Agassa. LGA school Idagidibo Etahi.
The Acting Chairperson described the program as a way of positively engaging the youths within Okene local government in marketable ideas. The skill acquisition exercise is also targeted at eradicating poverty and disengaging our youths from criminalities and illegal involvements.
Honorable Bilkisu Avosuahi Aliyu expressed happiness over the valued opportunity given to her as a woman to decide the affairs of her office. She noted that Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello whom have stood behind the entire women and youths of Kogi State and Nigeria at large will surely get massive votes and supports of the youths and women in the Presidential race. She also described the Kogi State Governor as a Believer of the women-inclusive governance which has opened a way for indigenes of Okene to get trained in strategic skills and various empowerment programs.
The Acting Chairperson who spoke confidently about the values and advantages that have come out of Kogi State Governor’s leadership styles and method of Governance, note that Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello will continue to do more to promote justice, equity and harmony as a destined Pilot of successes and track-records. The Governor is ensured by the Acting Chairperson of Okene that the youths and women he has recognized and given importance in the Local Government, State Government and beyond will continue to stand by him and support him in every race of his, pointing that Governor Yahaya Bello is the only Godly ordained and destined leader to pilot the affairs of Nigeria to it success.
Honorable Bilkisu Avosuahi Aliyu who is in partnership with Kogi Projector for good governance has been able to put-up this empowerment strategy and program to inculcate the values of the knowledge of these various skills in our youths. The program is to feature skills such as catering and baking services, event management and interior decoration, fish farming and poultry, Computer training and solar installation, soap making and make-up.
The training is to take place within a period of one month and certificates will be given ceremonially to all trained persons. Enyuse who gave a brief on the primary aims of this strategic training has called on all sons and daughters within Okene to embrace this opportunity of having knowledge of at least one skill. The youths are to smartly engage in small scale business which will boost their independency and reduce drastically the rates of unemployment.
The Acting Chairperson also noted that adding values to the development of our society is her primary aim. The empowerment program is a true reflection of the standards of our promises to indigenes of Okene Local Government as they will continue to benefit positively from the government as made possible by His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello.
The entire people of Okene have also promised to contribute their efforts and strategies in support of the call on His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello to run for the presidency of our country, Nigeria. They have promised to give their complete support to His Excellency being that more opportunities and community development-empowerment programs will come out of Governor Yahaya Bello’s youthful and women-inclusive government and leadership styles.
The event also had many dignitaries in attendance. Present at the flag off today in Okene are: The eleven ward Councilors of Okene led by the Council leader, The management of the Secretariat led by the Director of Local Government (DLG), The eleven ward women leaders of Okene and the Traditional Rulers.
