Hon. Solomon Agada, Publisher and CEO of *Confluence Trust Newspaper*, has commended the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Ahmed Usman Ododo, for the abolition of the requirement for tax clearance certificates in the state’s tertiary institutions.
Hon. Agada made this commendation while addressing members of the press in Lokoja. He praised the Governor for demonstrating exemplary leadership and responsiveness by prioritizing the needs of the people. He noted that governance is fundamentally about serving the people, and Governor Ododo has proven his commitment to this principle.
He further appreciated the Governor for initiating and executing people-oriented projects, including the construction of the new Lokoja Ultra-Modern Market, the Zone 8 Roundabout, and the Zango Dual Carriageway, among other impactful developments.
Hon. Agada also used the occasion to appeal to the Governor to address the pressing needs of the Ganaja Junction to Ganaja Village Road. He emphasized the need for the installation of solar streetlights in the area and urged the state government to take up its portion of the road project, as reliance solely on the Federal Ministry of Works has left the area neglected.
Finally, Hon. Agada called on citizens of Kogi State to remain united in their support for Governor Ododo’s administration. He noted that the abolition of tax clearance requirements for admissions into state-owned higher institutions would significantly relieve parents, especially farmers, petty traders, and others, enabling them to focus on their livelihoods without unnecessary financial burdens.
