NITDA DG COMMENDS KOGI GOVERNOR, TO PARTNER STATE ON ICT INFRASTRUCTURE, CUSTO, ROBOTICS AND HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT


 

In line with Governor Yahaya Bello’s roadmap in building a robust digital economy via new ideas and emerging technologies, a delegation of the Kogi State Government has today met and held important sessions with the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA.

The Kogi state entourage led by the newly appointed Technical Assistant to the Governor on Private Sector and Digital Economy, Anthony Edogbo, was received by the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, who also doubles as the Chief IT Officer of Nigeria.

The NITDA DG was glad to receive the Kogi state team, pledging massive collaboration in the areas of ICT Infrastructure, deployment of e-governance protocols, scholarships, youth empowerment programmes and trainings.

The Technical Assistant also garnered the support of NITDA in provision of ICT hubs for the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara.

Th Director General of NITDA promised to partner Kogi State in the newly established National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, as well as other projects and interventions of the national agency.

Kogi is also set to key in to the NITDA e-training centre to be deployed to Kogi state following this courtesy call.

In the words of the Director General, “Governor Yahaya Bello is strategic in his approach by identifying youths and giving them strategic roles, from the Chief of staff to Commissioners and other aidees. By keying in to the digital economy agenda of the Federal Government, and by the appointment of a digital economy assistant. The future belongs to the youths, and as the youngest NITDA DG, a collaboration with the youngest Governor in Nigeria is a very welcome development”.

The Technical Assistant assured the NITDA Director General of the readiness of the Governor to support the agency in making Kogi State a focal center of ICT hubs and technological development.

The meeting was attended by other Directors of NITDA and the Kogi State Private Sector and Digital Economy team.
