The Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kogi State Branch, His Eminence Special Apostle Dr. Adebayo Emmanuel Olaniyan has admonished the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 Gubernatorial election in Kogi State; Senator Dino Melaye to carry out his Consultation and Campaign with the fear of God.
He made this known during a visit of the PDP flagbear to the state secretariat of the Christian Association Leadership in Lokoja on Tuesday.
The clergy took time to establish that election should not be a do or die affair if it is service driven. He urged the guest to ensure peaceful conduct of himself and his supporters before, during and after the election.
Speaking further, he said there is religious tolerance and support in the state under the leadership of H.E Alh. Yahaya Bello and anyone planning to govern the State should be ready to build on this legacy.
In his response, Sen. Dino thanked members and leadership of CAN. He said he had come to seek for prayers from CAN as he begin his moves to woo Kogites for their vote.
The PDP flagbear stressed that he would serve in the fear of God if elected into office as Governor.
High point of the event was the Prayers offered for Kogi State, the election, and Sen. Dino Melaye.
Present in the prayer meeting were, IP Chairman of CAN, Bishop John Ibenu, CAN Executive, Bloc Leaders, WOWICAN and YOWICAN.
CAN after prayers reminded the PDP flag bearer that CAN is not partisan and opened to all Parties and Candidates for prayers, consultations and counsel.
