Kogi State Branch, Council of Ulama’u of Nigeria pays official visit to Gov. Bello.


 

The Kogi State Branch, Council of Ulama’u of Nigeria recently paid an official courtesy visit to His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive.

 

The officials of Kogi State Branch, Council of Ulama’u of Nigeria paid an official courtesy visit to His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State on Sunday, 3rd Shawwal, 1444H/23rd April, 2023 at Government House.

The visit is to rejoice with His Excellency in commemorating the Eidul-Fitri Sallah which officially marks the end of annual Ramadan Fast for 1444H/2023 Fast.

The courtesy visit was led by Honourable Justice Sulaiman A. Olorunfemi (Rtd) a former Grand Kadi of Kogi State and the Deputy State Chairman of the Council.

In its address, the Council felicitated with and congratulated the Governor on the peaceful and successful completion of the Ramadan Fast by the Muslims in the State.

It thanked him for his commitment to ensuring peace and development in the State. Council urges him to vigorously sustain this for the benefit of the people in the state.

Council expressed its gratitude to the Governor for his consistent support to religious organizations in the State which has enhanced their spiritual and social activities.

It thanked His Excellency for reinstating Shaikh Salihu Abere as the substantive Chief Imam of Ebirraland and who is to be turbaned officially in that capacity. This singular positive action by His Excellency has brought honour and dignity not only to Ebirraland but entire Muslim Ummah of the State in particular and Nigeria in general. The Council expressed its satisfaction with and commend its Patron in the Central Senatorial District , HRH Alhaji Muhammad Ahmad Enaje, the Ohi of Okengwen Ehi for the positive fatherly roles he plays in the affairs of the Muslim Ummah in this area.

In his response, the Governor happily thanked the delegation for the august visit. He commended and appreciated the Council for the good works it is doing in the State. He thanked the Council members for ensuring peace, harmony and peaceful coexistence among the people of the state despite their diverse ethnicity, tribe and religious inclinations.

He urged the members of the Council to continue with their fervent prayers for the nation and its leaders, the State and its leaders as well as the good people of the state at individual and collective levels so that we can all enjoy the bond of love, fraternity and enthusiastic brotherhood. He urged the people of the state to fully support his developmental programs for the State to move it to astronomical levels for the benefit of all. He congratulated the people of the State in general and Muslims in particular for the memorable Eid celebration.

Other Executive members expected on the delegation but unavoidably absent for obvious reasons are, Shaikh Salman Adam and Honourable Justice AbdulKareem A. Aruwa, the Honourable Grand Kadi of Kogi State and the Executive Secretary of the Council. Those present were, Alhaji Idris Babango, the Admin. Secretary, Shaikh Abdullahi Mambo, Sarkin Mallamai of Lokoja and Council Chief Imam, Dr. Alhaji Muhammad Ali Baba, Chairman/Director Project Committee, Ustaz Tanko Talle, Admin. Secretary, Zakat, Sadaqa and Endowment Committee, Ustaz A. I. K. Aleru, Treasurer, Ustaz Muhammad Mansur Imam, Asst. Admin. Secretary, Zakat, Sadaqah and Endowment Committee, Ustaz Idris Abdullahi, an Executive member and Mallam Zakariya Z. A. Aliyu State Public Relations Officer.

Fervent prayers were being offered for the nation and its leaders, the Governor and the State, His Excellency’s late parents as well as the entire Muslim Ummah in Kogi in particular and Nigeria in general.

The prayer was led by Shaikh Abdullahi Mambo, the Sarkin Mallamai of Lokoja and Chief Imam of the Council.
