Kogi State Government has declared its support for the forthcoming State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ Week.
Commissioner of Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo stated this when he received the leadership of the Union and members of the planning Committee in Lokoja.
Fanwo, who was delighted with the visit, assured that he will do everything within his power to make the programme success.
He promised to reach out to Candidates of the All Progressives Congress to key into the Media Parley organized by the Union to enable them project their manifestoe to the electorates of the State.
According to him, the ruling party has fielded credible men of impeccable character at various levels for the next general elections.
He said the Government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello has performed creditably in the Area of Health, Education, Agriculture, Environment as well as Youths and women empowerment.
The Commissioner appreciated the State Council of NUJ for projecting the State in the good light, assuring of a renewed better working relationship with the Union.
Chairman of the Union, Comrade Adeiza Momoh-Jimoh represented by the Assistant Secretary, Comrade Samuel Atuluku congratulated the Commissioner on his reappointment, describing it as well deserved.
The Chairman reminded the Commissioner on the promise of the State government to rehabilitate the NUJ secretariat and the bus.
Earlier, Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Jerry Ocheme of African Independent Television (AIT) informed that Commissioner that the Union has dedicated two days to inspect all projects of the present administration.
Mr. Ocheme while soliciting the support of the Commissioner, noted that the visit was the first activity of the Committee.
