A Philanthropist and Politician in Kogi East Senatorial District, Hon. Odu Akowe has freely donated a borehole to Owowole Community in Ofu Local Government Area.
The borehole Commissioned at the weekend was placed at the cost of N7.8m has sent the community into frenzy of joy as the people said it has helped in alleviating there sufferings in search of potable water.
The donor who has been involved in Community Development efforts over the years, said it is his little way of contributing to humanity.
Based in Abuja and at home, Hon. Odu Akowe received the blessings of the Community Leaders and inhabitants, prayed God to replenish his pockets and more opportunities in the future.
Speaking to Newsmen, Mariam Ozioma said the borehole has reduced the rate of hardship, as women and children are no longer at the risk of being knocked down by vehicles.
Similarly, Hussein Adama said the water facility has reduced children and women being beaten by reptiles who go in search of underground water in bushes surrounding the community.
While maintaining that it is a dream come true, Salisu Usman, explained that the efforts by Hon. Odu would remain indelible on there minds as it is a big relief for the people of Owowole Community in Ofu Local Government Area.
Hon Odu Akowe, a philanthropist, a great politician, has touched lives of both Men, Women and Youths cutting across the nine Local Government in Kogi East.
He hails from Owowolo Community, in Ofu LGA, Kogi State. The water project was Commissioned by the PDP Acting Party Chairman Ofu LGA, Hon Momohsani Musa.
Also present at the Commissioning was Prince Momoh Enema, the National President, Igala Youth Empowerment Initiative, Hon Okpanachi, Ofu LGA PDP Party leader.
