Kogi State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello has commence the concrete works at Ukpogoro to Benin bye pass today.
The project which is under the leadership of the Honourable Commissioner for Works and Housing Engr. Dr. Abubakar Ohere FNSE, went on a special assessment today, he therefore emphasized on quality and timely delivery.
He used the opportunity to convey the charge of His Excellency to all contractors handling projects in the state to March up with the work program or face
revocation.
“The project is to end unfailingly December 2021 as the commissioner insists there is no time to check time.”
Government is desirous of completing this project, as such is not leaving anything to chance, that is why we are here regularly tracking the progress of work with a view to sorting out any identified challenges, Engr. Abubakar Ohere stated.”
The Commissioner also said the road projects were spread across 21 Local government areas of the state, noting that some have been completed while others were at various stages of completion.
On the level of work done so far, Engr Ohere said “we have made a lot of progress.This methodology has numerous benefits. The new road will have an increased bearing capacity, compared to the previous pavement constructed with granular base course, leading to an extended lifespan.
The most essence is to to deliver a value-driven solution. He appealed to the good people of Kogi State to be patient with the government in its commitment to deliver a qualitative work that would stand the test of time.
