Gov Nwifuru reiterates commitment to providing adequate health care service delivery to Ebonyi people

The Governor of Ebonyi State Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has reiterated his administration commitment and dedication to providing very accessible and affordable health care service delivery to the entire citizens of the State.

Governor Nwifuru stated this during Ebonyi State health insurance submit at the Christain Ecumenical centre in Abakaliki.

The Governor who was represented at the event by his Deputy Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila said the State government has invested so much in the health sector in a bid to improve the health status of Ebonyi people.

The Governor who disclosed the State Government readiness to build quarters for doctors and nurses working in the health facilities across the State, commended his darling wife Chief Mary Maudline Nwifuru for her tireless efforts and support in uplifting the lives of Ebonyi people.

On her part, the wife of the Governor of Ebonyi State Chief Mrs Mary Maudline Uzomaka Nwifuru said the submit marks the commitment to ensuring that residents of the State regardless of their socioeconomic status have access to the health care they need.

Mrs Nwifuru who is the founder of better health for rural women, children and internally displaced persons foundation (BERWO) said the her office through BERWO would enroll all pregnant women across the State into EBSHIA for free antenatal and delivery services in addition to the foundation’s earlier enrollment of over 4,076 pregnant women, 300 sickle cell warriors, 100 elderly and 100 children with scrotal hernia across the 13 LGA’s for free surgeries as well as 650 elderly and 650 children for free health services among others.

According to Mrs Nwifuru, I am deeply encouraged by the progress we have already made, and I am happy to announce that my office through BERWO Foundation will be enrolling all pregnant women in the state. So anywhere you are in Ebonyi state, please before six months of your pregnancy, get enrolled in EBSHIA free of charge”

“The Ebonyi State Health Insurance Scheme is helping to close the gap in healthcare access across our state, bringing essential services to rural and urban areas alike. This would not have been possible without the commitment of the Ebonyi State government, healthcare professionals, community leaders, and our esteemed partners”

” As we gather here today, it is also a moment to celebrate a visionary leader whose tireless efforts have shaped Ebonyi State’s health landscape, My Darling Husband His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. His commitment to healthcare transformation is commendable, and we are pleased to honor him today with the Health Priority Award. This award is a recognition of his unparalleled dedication to the health and well-being of the people of Ebonyi State” she said

Earlier in his remarks, the executive secretary of Ebonyi State Health insurance agency EBSIA Dr. Divine Okemuefuna Igwe while enumerating some of the free medical services already rendered to the people of the State including a man that was suffering from umbilical hernia for over forty three years, hinted that the agency has enrolled over 86,000 persons into the agencies for free medical services.

Igwe commended Governor Nwifuru and his wife for their relentless efforts in providing free health care services to Ebonyi people which he said is the first of its kind since the creation of the State.

In their good will messages, the secretary to the State Government Professor Grace Umezuruike, Speaker of Ebonyi State house of Assembly Rt. Hon. Moses Odunwa, the State ALGON chairman Barr. Chinedu Uburu, director general nation health insurance authority Dr Kelechi Ohiri, Commissioner for health Dr. Moses Ekuma applauded their execellencies for their surgical interventions to Ebonyi people while urging people of the State to enroll into EBSHIA to save their lives.

They further commended Governor Nwifuru for his laudable achievements in health sector in the State.

In a vote of thanks, one of the beneficiaries of the State Government free health care services Mr Chika Okoro extolled Governor Nwifuru and his wife for their timely intervention and prayed God to reward them with good health, long life and give them more wisdoms as they continue to pilot the affairs of the State.

The event featured presentation of health priority award to Governor Nwifuru and cultural display by groups.
