Pastor Roseline Alabi, Executive Director, Dual Care and HIV Prevention Initiative has called for a proactive steps towards ameliorating the plights of the vulnerable in the society.
She argued that the prevalent poverty in the land calls for concerted effort to also empower the women folks, pointing out that the rate of out of school Children is becoming alarming.
She called for stiffer penalties for rape, child labour and other gender based violence, said the growing population of unemployed youths calls for concerned.
She urged for a conference that would discuss how to improve on the quality of living of women and children, lamented that the cost of education is becoming difficult for the common man.
She expressed reservation on the pervasive state of insecurity in Nigeria, pointed out that women and children are worst hit by Government insensitivity and inactions.
Pastor Roseline made the remarks when leaders of different ethnic-based organizations, religious bodies, civil society organizations and media met at a one day multi-stakeholder dialogue organised by Lux Terra Leadership Foundation, with support from the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy Democracy Development (SCDDD) in Lokoja, Kogi state capital, at Miami Hotel on Thursday.
Pastor Roseline is also the State Coordinator Society for Water and Sanitation, North Central and Coordinator of Civil Society Organization on the Health Rights of Women and Girls and Children.ql
