The people of Ogori in Ogori -Magongo LGA have been called upon to continue to sustain all initiates and efforts capable of the promoting the culture of unity amongst the people and other neighbouring communities at a time like this when the collective peace and security of the world is being threatened.
This assertion was made today at the Civic Centre Ogori in a message sent to the thirty years anniversary celebration of the Enirete Eregba Cultural Group in Ogori by Hon. Oladipo Makakese Bayode, a former Senior Aide to the Governor in Kogi State. Hon Bayode who was is a son of the community was invited as one of the Chief Fund Raisers to the event, he was represented by his brother, Hon. Sunday Keyi. He congratulated the cultural group for its thirty years of excellence in contributing to the culture of peace which the people of Ogoriland are known for through cultural music.
Just like what pastors do whenever the opportunity is created for them, Hon. Bayode, popularly referred to as ‘comrade’ by his pears, used the opportunity to sue for a united Ogori where our strength will be our collective resolve for integrity. He assured the people that the World would soon get into economic boom for the regeneration of all our sector but, all hands must be on deck by going back to the agriculture which is the main stay to economic development. This is not a time to lazy around but to contribute to the food bank of the nation. A small back yard garden would do’ he said.
Prominent Ogorians were in attendance at the ceremony. HRH Prof Olu Akerejola, the Uboro of Ogori led the traditional institutions; a renowned education administrator, Dr Tony Alabi; Cannon and Mrs Paul Usman ; Mr Festus Soji Keyi who represented Mr. Biodun Omolaiye, an American based promoter of Eregba. The National President of Ogori Descendant Union, Engr. Gbemi Omole was represented by Mr. Friday Moses Represent Engr Gbemi Omole.
