You’ve not disappointed me, Gov. Bello lauds Kogi Education Commissioner’s laudable achievements, says I’m proud of you


 

…As he bags award of best performed Education Commissioner in Kogi.

 

Gov. Yahaya Bello has expressed satisfaction with the performances of the Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones in office, says he is not disappointed that he has him in the new direction team.

Gov. Bello lauds the Commissioner’s laudable achievements, says ” I’m proud of you for helping to implement my education agenda for the people”.

The governor who was was full of praises for the Commissioner made the disclosure when Hon. Wemi Jones bagged an award of excellence for being the best education commissioner the has ever had.

The award was conferred on the Commissioner in Lokoja by the “The Nigerian Post Newspaper” during her annual lecture on the topic: “Governance, Leadership Re-Defined, This House Must Not Fall”.

Presenting the award to the Commissioner, the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo who represented Governor Yahaya Bello described the Commissioner as a goal getter and one who gets maximum result, says he is well pleased with the Commissioner.

Gov. Bello urged him to sustain the feat attained until the finish line of the administration, pointing out that the award should spur him in doing more for the state.

According to Gov. Bello. ” You’ve not disappointed me. You have helped in delivering the mandate given to you. Today, the achievements your organization has recorded in several areas of our intervention shows that you’re a round peg in a round hole, praised him for having displayed Leadership and good stewardship”

Gov. Bello assured of his administration’s determination to be responsive and responsible to the needs of it’s citizens stressed that government is resolved to continue to make the well-being of the people a priority particularly in the educational sector.

The Governor promised to sustain government fight against crimes and criminality by infusing technology in onslaught in the State.

In his opening remark, Chairman of the occasion and former Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Professor Ikani Stephen Ocheni said the topic is apt in view of the present situation in the nation.

Professor Ocheni said Government at all levels must seek better ways of combating insecurity to sustain the collective efforts of one nationhood.

He commended Governor Bello’s giant strides in repositioning the educational sector, youths and women inclusiveness in governance as well as giving recognition to the physically challenged in the State.

Also in a paper presentation, Mr. Tope Joel of the Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja said the nation needs re-direction to ensure that the; “The House Does Not Fall” by voting leaders that will help in overcoming the security challenges as well as the need for family values to be inculcated in the children.

In his remark, the Vice Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi cautioned the political actors not to use, religion, ethnicity to heat the polity thereby attempting to pulldown the “House” of Nigeria as a nation.

Speaking, Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Union Journalists, Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh called on the State Government to give more attention to the State broadcast outfits namely; Radio Kogi and Graphics newspaper for optimum output.

Also in their separate goodwill messages, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku, Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Doctor Usman Ogbo, and Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Wemi Jones amongst others extolled Governor Bello’s style of redefining governance through projects execution across the State and inclusion of youths and women.

In a remark, the Editor-in-Chief of The Nigerian Post Newspaper, Mike Abu said the topic; “Governance Leadership Re-Defined This House Must Not Fall” is apt in view of the happenings in the nation which call for collective efforts of all.

He said the awardees were selected for thier modest contributions to the act of governance and humanity.

Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of awards to various dignitaries whose contributed immensely to the development of the society using thier various positions to impact positively on humanity among whom are the Provost, College of Education Technical Kabba, Doctor Mrs Victoria Olushola Jagboro, the SSA to Governor Bello on Electronics, Billy Nwogu, members representing Lokoja/Kotonkarfe and Yagba West in the House of Representatives, Ibrahim Shaba, and Elder Leke Abejide respectively, State NULGE President, Comrade Trade Adeyemi as well as Comrade Oladele Nihi who was conferred with an award on exceptional youth development and leadership.
