YOUTH FARMERS HONOR DANGOTE AND MR. DEVAKUMAR EDWIN WITH MERIT AWARDS, DECLARE DANGOTE REFINERY A NATIONAL PRIDE
The Youth Farmers Organization for Agricultural Development in Nigeria has honored Alhaji Aliko Dangote, GCON, President of Dangote Industries Limited, and Mr. Devakumar Edwin, Vice President of Dangote Industries Limited, with Merit Awards of Excellence in recognition of their exceptional contributions to national development and youth empowerment.
The award presentation was a highlight of a highly successful two-day advocacy visit and facility tour of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Lagos, which provided a unique opportunity for the visiting delegation to witness firsthand the refinery’s state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technology. During the visit, the team gained valuable insights into the refinery’s operations, including its production capacity, quality control measures, and commitment to safety and environmental sustainability. The visit underscored the refinery’s pivotal role in Nigeria’s economic development and reinforced the importance of partnerships between the private sector and other stakeholders in driving national growth and development.
The National President of the organization, Abdulrahman Umar Etudaye, presented the Merit Award of Excellence to Alhaji Aliko Dangote, GCON, as Grand Patron of the Youth Farmers Organization for Agricultural Development. The honor, he said, was in recognition and appreciation of his selfless service to nation-building, immense contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth, and unwavering support for youth empowerment.
Similarly, Mr. Devakumar Edwin, Vice President, Dangote Industries Limited, was conferred with the Merit Award of Excellence as Patron of the organization. The award recognizes his selfless service, outstanding leadership qualities, and consistent contributions to the nation’s economic growth and youth development.
During the visit, the Youth Farmers lauded the Dangote Refinery, declaring it a National Pride and a beacon of hope for Nigeria’s economic future. They described the refinery as “a symbol of industrial excellence and a catalyst for Nigeria’s economic transformation,” highlighting its potential to drive industrialization, create jobs, and reduce the country’s reliance on imported petroleum products. By acknowledging the refinery’s significance, the Youth Farmers emphasized the importance of supporting domestic industries and initiatives that can propel Nigeria’s growth and development, ultimately improving the lives of its citizens.
The group also extended invitations to Mr. Devakumar Edwin to serve as Chairman of its forthcoming National Food Security Summit in Abuja, and to Alhaji Aliko Dangote as Special Guest of Honour at the event.
In his response, Mr. Devakumar Edwin commended the Youth Farmers Organization for its resilience, patriotism, and commitment to nation-building. He highlighted some of the ongoing projects of Dangote Industries across the country geared toward youth empowerment and national development, and reiterated the company’s unwavering commitment to addressing youth unemployment and promoting sustainable growth in Nigeria.
The Youth Farmers Organization reaffirmed its continuous support for initiatives that promote food security, youth empowerment, and national development, pledging to collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including Dangote Industries, to achieve a more prosperous Nigeria.
