YAHAYA BELLO’S TENURE IN KOGI: HIS ROBUST ACHIEVEMENTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS – BY CHIEF ASAJE.
Chief Richard Asaje, the National Coordinator of the “Like Minds Alliance Pressure Group” has again commended the robust achievements and accomplishments of Former Governor Yahaya Bello during his tenure as Governor of Kogi State from 2015 – 2023.
In a statement signed by Chief Asaje, he stated that, “Let us celebrate the robust achievements and accomplishments we all are happy about under the leadership of Yahaya Bello during his tenure as Governor of Kogi State. He is one of the brain behind the emergence of the Best performing Governor’s in the history of Kogi and the making of the ruling APC Party victory in any election”.
According to him, Yahaya Bello’s key achievements included; “the completion of the best Specialist Hospital in Africa located (in Kogi Central). Kogi State University Kabba in Kogi West, Prince Abubakar Audu University formerly known as Anyigba University (Kogi East) in honor of the late political leader. His significant investments in new road infrastructure to accommodate the State’s growing population across the State remains unprecedented.
Continuing he stated that his leadership also led to him receiving multiple awards, such as the Best Governor in Nigeria for Security Management at the Nigeria Excellence in Public service. Awards for the Best Governor in Nigeria for observing the over 30% Women participation in governance, when the “New National Constitution” established 30% to assure female participation, as well as best practice prize for outstanding accomplishments..
He has made undeniable great impact in recent politics and governance in the country. He ensured Youths participation in governance. They were given equal opportunity and in every sector. Every village has their Traditional rulers, respected by the government.
Also in the area of uniting the 3 tribal sections of the State, he made them to be united and to be one body called The EBIGO AGENDA.
Mr. Yahaya Bello is no doubt one of the most notable political actors in Kogi and Nigeria today. This is a testimony to his creative thinking ability, innovativeness, compassion and political sagacity as an outstanding political figure.
He has become a cynosure of all eyes all over the State/Nation, thereby becoming subject of envy by some political detrators and sycophants, Asaje added.
Chief Asaje in his humble deposition urged all gladiators in Okun land/Kogi West to be united, promote synergy, should maintain good relationship with Kogi Central, noting that, the people of the central are people who can be trusted.
“In year 2011 under HE lbrahim ldris, (aka lbro) they told us to go and bring our candidate, but we in Okun could not provide nor agree on a candidate.The reason why we lost. Once beaten twice”, urged the people of Kogi West to shine their eyes, said history must not repeat itself again.
“Kogi West is the nexus of the State. Our internal political divisions may have affected us in the past, but now, we must regroup to unity and progress. After Governor Ododo’s tenure in office, Okun extraction Lokan”, Asaje opined.
Yahaya Bello deserves the heights of gratitude for his result oriented leadership which has catapulted the State to an enviable heights, Asaje added.
