… As dignitaries shower Yagba West House of Assembly APC encomium
The Executive Chairman Yagba West LGA, Hon. Pius Gbemisola Kolawole, Hon. Seth Ronke Abayomi, Amb. Oladele John Nihi, Hon. Aina Oladipo, Hon. Korede Alabi, Hon. Tade Oshaloto, Oba Jones Babalola (Ilufemiloye 1) and other dignitaries across Kogi State graced the occasion of the football tournament kick off on August 6.
In a welcome address by Mr Aremu, the Chairman of Yemisi Initiative Support Group (YISG) stated that, the tournament was in furtherance to ERELU Oluyemisi Oshaloto’s vision for the encouragement of the youths of Yagba West to embrace the spirit of national unity, cohesion and patriotism; irrespective of religious and ethnic creeds, which football stands for in Nigeria and globally
He further disclosed their plans to have a standard Female Football Team in Yagba West – the team will be representing the Local Government Area in Female Football Competition across the State this also will serve as a source of empowerment.
The Kabiyesi, Oba of Igbaruku, Engr. Babalola Ilufemiloye 1, thanked everyone and commended Hon. Oluyemisi Oshaloto for making them proud, that the football tournament was a special one in the history of Yagba West Constituency, he said that for the first time, a woman was doing what a man could not do.
Amb. Oladele John Nihi also said that Hon. Oluyemisi Oshaloto for a long time ago had been putting the interest of Yagba West people first, that he could remember how Oluyemisi had been struggling to see how some of Yagba West footballers would join the international team, that was before she joined politics. He said “Oluyemisi love her people, it is time to show her the love and make her the next member of House Of Assembly, by God’s grace I can assure you that she will never disappoint you”.
Also the Executive Chairman Yagba West LGA, Hon Pius Gbemisola Kolawole said “Hon Oluyemisi Oshaloto has shown she’s ready and capable for the tasks, I’m assuring her and other contestants vying for House Of Representative, Senate and Presidency under our Party APC that the entire local government citizens are prepared to vote massively for them in the coming general election”.
