Yagba Federal Constituency, Call For Ipinyomi’s Improved Representation.

2027 is a year of another General election, though far, yet near, this is as Nigerian Politicians have begun subtle meetings to position themselves.

This pattern is now becoming the order of the day even in Yagba Federal Constituency of Kogi State as the arguments for who returns, gets what and where, who gets what, has been heightened.
Yagba Federal Constituency May have had it own fair share of representation, many however say it can be better with the likes of Brig. General Benjamin Ipinyomi rtd.
This argument is the opinion of others who are thinking differently, pointing out that the need for more eventful representation has become apt.
For now, Yagba Federal Constituency in the opinion of many, holds a vantage position in the nation’s politics. This forms the reason why many say they are looking beyond the norm as presently obtained, pointing out that there is already a lack of idea, and like the African adage, ” staying too long on the excreta’, comes with consequences.
The Yagba Federal Constituency is very rich in terms of solid political team. Names as Hon. Leke Abejide and Engr. Edward Meseko and Brig Gen Ipinyomi rtd are becoming reoccurring decimal in public and private discourse of some eminently qualified individuals to run.
A look at their capabilities will point to the fact that all the names mentioned are persons who can hold their own.
That the present occupant is a maverick politician. His representation has made some gains and his deep pockets speaks volumes.
Engr. Meseko, a very flexible politician, deep rooted grassroots politician at home, has tried in the past with experience of Politics, his ability to reach the other LGAs outside his Mopamuro LGA, is seen as his major challenge.
Brig Gen Ipinyomi, is a man of capacious intellect and capacious achievements in the military. Thus far, his antecedents shows that he does not blunder into projects and programs without wide consultation and critical thinking.
No one can tell if he is making any engagement and has any interest, he is however amongst many that are being mentioned, holds an ace.
Widely accepted amongst political actors irrespective of political party affiliation, political leaders, Youths and Women Groups seem to be looking in his direction. This however is if he finally accepts to offer himself to run in 2027.
For now Yagba Federal Constituency deserves better position according to many. This can however be made possible if the interest of the area comes top.
For a man who is known to have executed his activities in the Military circle with the precision of calibration, is yet to accept the offer.
The test of leadership is to turn around, see if anyone is following you. What kind of people do you attract? Does your vision compel people to follow? Are they committed to the vision? These are series of simple questions every leader should ask himself.
To Ipinyomi, a man that physically towers above his peers. These are not only pertinent questions but he is indeed having the best of followership in his quest to represent the people of Yagba Federal Constituency even though he is yet to declare officially to contest.
But from all intent and purposes, Ipinyomi is a man who in the political circle in Kogi State is worthy of emulation because his life has been one of service to mankind, particularly the people of Yagba in Kogi State.
According to Ipinyomi in an interview he granted sometimes ago, life of service to mankind is more than wealth of the world put together, reason why he may not be rich, but in his acceptability by the people that are following him with passion, he is still rethinking the idea.
A leading lights amongst the contenders seeking to represent Yagba Federal Constituency. Without mincing words, every indication point to the fact that Ipinyomi’s representation will no doubt bring in a new lease of life, going by his excellent ability to tower above his peers in making articulate views.
What the people of Yagba Federal Constituency need in 2027 is quality representation. A man who has remained untainted in his life and dealings with the people, for now, it is not out of place to say, Ipinyomi remains a distinguished visioner of unlimited possibilities, whose second nature is winning, consequently, would make a good representation.
Thus far, Ipinyomi has been given an ultimatum by may groups to declare his intention. The combination of a people movement, youths and women in the constituency met recently in Isanlu to serve him an ultimatum to aspire.
Thus far, Ipinyomi has proven to be a leader worth following. He has shown to many the path of greatness. It is now a fact of history that he has walked tall to success. His lofty ambition to conquer greater heights, break new grounds and live above the common standards of excellence has pleased the people of his constituency. Ipinyomi’s loyalty to the cause of the down trodden is worthy of emulation, reason why he has remained a great icon, hope and aspiration with unlimited credentials, has dedicated his life to the cause of the people.
Without mincing words, what Yagba federal constituency needs is a man of courage, brave and articulate, would be very outspoken, a characteristics that past representation has failed to have and address.
That Ipinyomi has made the people over the years the core of his career in all positions he finds himself needs to be saluted and given the opportunity to offer the desired help in representation to the people of Yagba federal constituency.
For his characteristics of fairness, lindustry, justice, forthrightness and above all unparalleled humility, certainly, it is the reason the people of Yagba are calling on Ipinyomi to aspire – so that they can drink from his reservoir of wisdom, outspokenness in attracting the much desired dividends of democracy.
As we approach 2027, Ipinyomi is a leading light amongst men, a leader who leads by example and good deeds. An asset to Yagba federal constituency if he accepts to run, would be a plus to his constituency in quality represention. A man with a Midas touch, he turns things into gold, will no doubt be a good representative for the people.
Some notable accomplishments of Ipinyomi include;
• Successfully led the strategic registration of the National Defence College Museum with the National
Commission for Museums and Monuments in 2016, ensuring its official recognition and preservation as
a national heritage institution.
• Initiated and executed the relocation of the Nigerian Army Museum from Chindit Barracks, Zaria to a
prime location in Asokoro, Abuja (2011–2012). This initiative aimed to reposition the museum as a
viable, income-generating asset of the Nigerian Army through strategic partnerships with international
foundations and NGOs. A comprehensive proposal to this effect was formally submitted to the Chief of Administration (Army).
• Appointed President of the General Court Martial (GCM) for the Nigerian Army’s 2 Division, Ibadan, Oyo
State (2009–2010), providing exemplary leadership in the administration of military justice.
• Championed the establishment of Command Day Secondary School (CDSS), Mokola, Ibadan in 2010,
setting a solid foundation for academic excellence and discipline within the institution using available
resources.
• Represented the General Officer Commanding, 2 Division Nigerian Army at the prestigious University of Ibadan Personality Lecture Series in 2010, enhancing the Division’s public engagement and intellectual
presence.
• Pioneered a youth-focused Literacy Campaign within Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Odogbo, Ibadan in
2009, while also initiating a large-scale expansion of the dining facility at Command Day Secondary
School, Ipaja, to accommodate over 3,000 students.
• Appointed Chairman of a high-level committee by the Chief of Army Staff in 2009 to review and
ultimately recommend the exclusion of weapon training from the curriculum of the Nigerian Military
School, Zaria—ushering in a reformed, education-centric approach.
• Represented the Chief of Army Staff as Special Guest of Honour at the valedictory ceremony of De’Ayo
International College, Ibadan in 2009, further cementing civil-military educational relations.
• Spearheaded the construction of a state-of-the-art Digital Library at Command Secondary School, Lagos in 2008, enhancing access to modern learning tools and resources.
Brig. Gen. Benjamin Segun Ipinyomi (Rtd) as Commandant of Command Secondary School, Ipaja, Lagos, took decisive action to eradicate cultism.
This resulted in the successful identification and handover of over twelve cult-involved students to the
Military Police at 81 Division, thereby restoring order and discipline across the school community.
• Oversaw the construction of two male and female student dormitories at Command Secondary School,
Ipaja in 2007, funded through internal savings from RCA. This effort was recognized with a
commendation from the Parent Teachers’ Association.
• Served as a distinguished member of the Direct Short Service Commission Selection Boards in 2005 and
2009, contributing to the rigorous selection of officers.
• Honoured with a Letter of Commendation from the Deputy Commandant, HQ NAECS in 2006, for
personal donation of a Public Address System and GPS units to the Nigerian Army School of Education,
Ilorin, demonstrating personal commitment to institutional advancement.
• Appointed as a member of a special investigative committee chaired by Brig. Gen. J.O. Olorunfemi to
evaluate and recommend viable adjustments to tuition fees at Command Secondary Schools for sustainable educational quality.
• Served as Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Accommodation during the HQ NAEC Ex EAGLE III Exercise
and the Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers Training Week in 2012, successfully
coordinating logistics and welfare requirements.
