WHO IS AFRAID OF MRS VICTORIA JAGBORO?

Our attention has been drawn to a malicious and hurriedly writen article making the rounds about the Provost of Kogi State College of Education [Technica] Kabba, Mrs Victoria Jagboro.

Initially we do not want to join issues with this uninformed and faceless Okun Youth Vanguard, who in their cynical intentions have decided to hide under the covers of darkness and shoot their evil arrow to those who are in the light striving to make Okun Nation a great one.

Let us remind those nitwits, that Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, a performing and thorough breed youthful Governor of Kogi State, vetted and scrutinised Mrs Jagboro’s CV before appointing her as the provost in the first place. The governor, has also seen a quantum leap in the development of the technical college of education and had giving thumbs up severally to the vibrant provost.

If we may ask this unsociable group where they were when the school was gradually dying before His Excellency jumped into action and declared an emergency on revamping the school by appoint a woman who she can trust to deliver?

Where were they, when she was building the new and best CBT jamb centre in Kogi state at the moment? Where were they, when she built from the scratch, a 350 seater auditorium which seats the student’s confortably during events in the school? Let us also ask them, where they were, when she often ran to the governor to seek and appeal for funds in other to actualise those mandate giving to her by the performing governor.

They didn’t dim it fit to jostle for the takeover of this institution while it was dying, until it has been well re-organised and doing just fine.

Let us make it clear hear, that neither we nor Mrs Victoria Jagboro is opposed to their inordinate ambition of applying for the now coveted position of the school’s provost but at least, decorum should be applied in doing this not the mudslinging campaign of calumny been bandied around because of a tenured ambition.

With this type of nay sayers and faceless group, one will see the reason why meaningful Okun elders usually call for the unity and oneness of Okun nation. It is therefore a pity, that as much as some good hands are lifting the glory of Okun land, some rejected pseudo group are head bent on pulling Okun land down.

Let us therefor set the record straight, Mrs Victoria Jagboro, by all ramifications is qualified to lead the institution according to the regulations and guideline of NCCE. She is also working on the full accreditation of courses and departments in the institution in line with NCCE regulations and guideline.

We are sure however, that the gender sensitive and friendly governor of Kogi state, his too busy to look in the way of those who are only good at negativity and petitioning. The good works and gender sensitivity of His Excellency, has fetched him numerous awards both home and abroad and we believe he is not ready to rest on his oars.

We therefore advice this faceless group to drop their unholy ambition and team up with the right thinking and gender friendly Okun people in lifting our land up.

Signed
Okun Concern Youths.
