‘We’re happy with your victory’ — APC Leader, Ali hails Kogi Governor-Elect.
Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lokoja/ Kogi federal Constituency, Alhaji Sulaiman Baba Ali, has congratulated Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, governor-elect of Kogi state.
Ododo contested the governorship election in Kogi on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC)
He secured 446,237 votes to defeat Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka,of Social Democratic Party (SDP) who polled 259,052 votes.
In a statement signed by Alhaji Sulaiman Baba Ali, in Lokoja on Monday, said it we’re “happy” to identify with the victory of the governor-elect.
The party leader asked the Kogi governor-elect to continue to “advance the fortune” of the state in the “manner” Gov. Yahaya Bello, the outgoing governor, has done.
The statement reads in parts, “On behalf of the entire members of APC in Lokoja/ Kogi federal Constituency, We heartily felicitate you and congratulate you on your victorious outing in the just concluded governorship elections, and emergence as the Governor-Elect of Kogi State.
“We are particularly happy to identify with your victory at this time of keen electoral contest, especially the progressive outlook of our party the APC campaigns and your commitment to continuing to advance the fortunes of the good people of
Kogi State in the same manner the incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello has excellently demonstrated.
We equally pray to God Almighty to grant you wisdom, understanding, strength and the enablement required to carry through your assignment creditably.” the statement concluded.
