The Christian Association of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter, Special Apostle Adebayo Emmanuel OLANIYAN has confirmed her readiness to join any conference or summit put together to promote equitable power sharing and rotation in Kogi State, stating that it is the best way to lasting peace and love among the various ethnic tribes in the state.
This and many more were the positions of various personalities who spoke during the advocacy visit of the Kogi Unity Accord group to the State secretariat of the the apex Christian body in Nigeria.
In his opening remarks, the leader of the visiting team, Omoluabi abode Adeyemi says the reality of current times has placed a moral responsibility on the church to defend equity, fairness and justice in the governance of the state as a means of promoting love and peace which the religious bodies stand for.
Omoluabi says the CAN is a body with a very intimidating demography that have thrown up the organization as the moral conscience and compass of the Christian faith and the defender of the church, stating that it’s about time that the church stood up and lend its voice into the crusade for legally backed equitable power distribution documents for the development of Kogi state.
Omoluabi said in the weeks ahead, a bill will be presented to the state house of assembly for passage into law for the rotation of all elective positions in Kogi state, especially the governorship seat and the church is expected to be a staunch advocate of the bill for the good of all..
While responding, the State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, Special Apostle Adebayo Emmanuel OLANIYAN lauded the initiative and pledges the support of the Christian body, stating that the church will make useful contributions including paper presentations during any conference and a public hearing toward achieving the objectives.
The Chairma agreed that no meaningful development can come under the atmosphere of mutual suspicion, ethnic incitement and unnecessary rivalry that impedes progress. He called in the political class to embrace the idea for peace and development which the church stands for.

The initiative and assures that there are relevant sections of the constitution that supports this position and therefore says it is doable when the people are ready.
