As part his wider campaign for free, fair and equal opportunity for all aspirants at the All Progressive Congress APC national convention coming up on 26th February 2022.
The Publisher Niger Delta Reporter Newspaper Hon. Felix Idowu has stressed the need for the delegates to massively support any candidate from states being govern by opposition People’s Democratic Party PDP in the North east in other to gain more ground within the zone.
The publisher made this assumption while rubbing mind with some selected youths who are on a campaign against the planned zoning of the APC national chairmanship position to the north central in Abuja.
Hon Idowu appreciated the youths for standing tall against this new decision by some members of the party for a better APC, saying that if the party could come together and do the needful it will unite and make the party stronger.
He however advised the youths to be a voice for change in any association or union they found themselves pointing out several reasons why APC should allow the chairman of the party to come from north east which includes fear of losing the zone to oppositions.
“APC need to do something serious about the north east, planting the national chairman of the party there will go a long way especially in one of the PDP ruling states there and I fear they may lose strength there if nothing is done through this convention because the oppositions are really working hard to take over that zone, also I am happy there are youths of my mindset on this issue who are talking and doing the needful in kicking against such wrongs in the party”.
Speaking to Thenigerianpost after the meeting, Comrade Akinde Edward appreciated the publisher of Niger Delta Newspaper for adding his voice at this time of restructuring the party saying that it is time to put things right within the party to allow aggrieved members shield their sword and embrace peace.
“I call on Mr. president Muhammadu Buhari to rise and defend the call of most APC members of equal opportunity for all aspirants and as you rightly heard we are calling on delegates to support any candidate from north east zone”.
Another member of the youth, Silas Jankasa Obadiah urged the delegates to pick best candidates, elect them and hand over the party’s leadership to them.
