Vigilantes Rescues 8 Family Members Abducted From Igbogo community in Kotonkarfe LGA.


Sets free over a hundred others held  hostage.

The vigilantes in Kogi LGA of Kogi State have rescued 8 Family members abducted from Igbogo community in Kotonkarfe LGA.

Similarly, over one hundred persons in captivity and held hostage by the kidnappers were also freed by the Vigilantes.

Recalled that kidnappers shot dead one person and abducted eight family members at Igbogo community in Kotonkarfe LGA of Kogi State.

The incident happened last Sunday around 11:23pm when the kidnappers invaded the community.

But speaking after their release, Abdulgasa Madaki, one of rescued, expressed appreciation to the Vigilantes, said aside the eight persons abducted from Igbogo community, over a hundred others found in the kidnappers den were also freed.

Among the rescued is  Tanimu Kaka who was abducted from his house along with his wife and three children.
The kidnappers also released three of Tenimu’s cousins that were staying with him in his house at the community.

Tanimu Kaka, is a staff of the Local Education Authority (LEA) in Gwagwalada Area Council, had travelled to the village for the weekend when the kidnappers invaded his house and abducted him with his family members.

Similarly, the Onyiwo of Igbogo, Abdulrahman Gimba Salihu, confirmed the release of eight family members in the community.

The spokesman of the Kogi State Police Command, DSP Williams Ovye Ayah, could not confirm the release, promised to call back soon as the information is available to him.
