Kogi State, 15 December 2023 – The office of the Vice Chairman Kogi East within the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi State Chapter, issues this press release to categorically state that the recent declaration of the Vice Chairman position as vacant by faceless elements holds no validity or constitutional weight.
In recent events, a group claiming to represent an unknown entity has declared the position of the Vice Chairman Kogi East vacant. The legitimacy of such actions is questionable, and we wish to emphasize that the Vice Chairman Kogi East, Comrade Ameh Nuhu Okpanachi remains steadfast in his role and continues to serve in his capacity.
I consider the actions of these faceless individuals as nothing more than the whimsical decisions of a mob resembling beer parlour dwellers. Their purported authority lacks legitimacy, and their attempts to disrupt the established leadership structure are baseless.
It is important to clarify that the NYCN Kogi State Chapter is under the leadership of Amb. Usman Ogohi Samuel, who possesses the constitutional backing to carry out the duties of the Chairman. Any claims or actions taken by unauthorized individuals in the name of the council should be disregarded.
I call upon all members of the NYCN Kogi State Chapter to remain vigilant and united against attempts to destabilize the council. Let us uphold the principles of justice, constitutional order, and the established leadership under Amb. Usman Ogohi Samuel.
