The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi says a country without history is doom to failure.
The Vice Chancellor made the disclosure at
the institutionalization of “Professor Olayemi Akinwumi Price for Best Graduating History Student of FGGC, Bwari, Abuja”, described history as an academic discipline that studies the, see the present and look into the future.
While pointing out that a nation and people cannot do with history, expressed appreciation that the study of history as a subject which was removed from the curriculum has now been reintroduced to studied at the Universities and Secondary Schools.
Prof. Akinwumi encouraged the students to study history, assured of admission at the Federal University Lokoja for qualified students wishing to study history.
The Vice Chancellor was represented at the occasion by Dr. John Adole, HOD, History and International Relations, Veritas University, made reference to many persons who studied history and were rated as exceptional administrators.
Highlights of the occasion was the successful institutionalization of “Professor Olayemi Akinwumi Price for Best Graduating History Student of FGGC, Bwari, Abuja” and presentation of award to Igwe Chinenye, the Best graduating students in History. The event was the talk of the town, as parents and students lauded the encouragement of the Vice Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja.
