VC FUL advocates tolerance, good neighbourliness, mutual understanding for Nigeria’s Peace.


 

The Vice Chancellor, Prof Olayemi Akinwumi FHSN, AvHF, FNAL was a Guest Speaker to Course 31 at the National Defence College, Abuja on “Building Social Resilience in Inter group Relations: Implications for National Security in Nigeria”.

 

Prof. Akinwumi emphasises that for us to have peace and tranquility in Nigeria, all ethnic nationalities should come to terms with the fact that there is need for tolerance, good neighbourliness, mutual understanding, equity and the likes”

 


He also mention the need to respect the constitution. In his words, “the constitution tells us that all of us, irrespective of our ethnicity and creed are equal before the law.

Equitable application and administration of the core values of the constitution on all citizens will entrench collective interests, which in turn, enhances socio-economic and political stability with far reaching implications for Nigeria’s National security and development.”
