The Convener, Congress For Better Nigeria, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael has described Gov. Yahaya Bello as a Nationalist and Patriot worthy of Presiding Nigeria.
Barr. Dare made the disclosure while reacting to the statement by Gov. Yahaya Bello that he will not join Rivers and Lagos states in pushing for the retention of value added tax (VAT) in states.
Gov. Bello made his position not to join the bandwagon through his Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, during an appearance on Arise Television on Friday, lauded Gov. Bello’s position, described him as what Nigeria needs in 2023.
Barr. Dare praised Gov Bello for saying that despite the advantages Kogi have on VAT, expressed commendation that he was against States withholding VAT was because the potentials of states across the country were not equal.
The Legal Luminary and APC Chieftain pointed out that States are not created equally, and God that created us did not give us equal potentials, said it means we have to support one another”.
Barr. Dare noted that Kogi is bordered by about 10 states of the federation and a gateway to the north, south, said knowing the thousands of vehicles that transverse the state on a daily basis, and added to the fact that the state is the mineral capital of Nigeria, commended the position of Gov. Bello for not joining the negative bandwagon.
Barr. Dare called on states that were already thinking of following the steps of Rivers and Lagos States to start thinking about the nation instead of thinking about themselves, urged them to emulate the Nationalist and patriotic disposition of Gov. Bello.
Barr. Dare observed that if Gov. Bello becomes the President of Nigeria, his decision has shown that he will unite Nigeria and be fair, just and equitable in governance.
He described the action of Gov. Bello as one that is laying the foundation for fiscal federalism, urged Nigerians to begin to think him as the President of Nigeria for the country to make the desired progress.
