The Kogi State Pilgrims for 1444H/2023 Hajj have all arrived Makkah in Saudi Arabia in continuation of the activities for this year’s Hajj.

They are fully accommodated. After the completion of the first and second phases, they are now awaiting the third phase which is the Hajj proper.
This begins from the 8th day of Dhul-Hijja the twelfth month of Islamic calendar. During the second phase, they completed the performance of Umrah which entails, the welcoming circumumblation of Ka’abah, offering of two rakah prayers at the site of Prophet Ibrahim Alayhi Sallam and the compulsory movement between mounts Safa and Marwa seven times, thereby concluding the Umrah known as lesser Hajj. The Executive Chairman of Kogi State Hajj Commission, Sheikh Luqman Imam Abdullahi has strongly admonished the State pilgrims to limit their movements especially in the day time in view of the harsh weather emanating from the scorching sun. This according to him is to avoid sunstroke.
